H33 Custody › No Recovery Keys › Password Manager Alternative
Identity Custody · No Recovery Keys
Password managers solve one problem — and create another.
Password managers consolidate every credential behind a master password (or master recovery key). When the master is compromised, lost, or forgotten, everything is. H33 Custody gives you credential consolidation without a single-master failure mode.
Why password managers still need a recovery story
Every major password manager eventually has to answer the recovery question: what happens when the user loses the master password? The answers range from 'we can't help you' to 'here's a 64-character recovery key you should print and store somewhere safe.' The recovery key becomes the new single point of failure — usually with worse storage habits than the password it replaced.
How H33 Custody changes the model
Identity is bound to biometric verification. Credentials are held with the same custody model as any other H33 holding — beneficiary-designated, succession-rule-bound, and audit-verifiable. Recovery is multi-party and trust-based, not master-secret-based.
What about my existing vault?
You don't have to migrate everything immediately. H33 Custody can sit alongside existing password managers for the credentials that need beneficiary designation and verifiable handoff — while everyday credentials stay in the vault you're already using.
