Why nothing is lost
The identity that governs your Vault is not stored on any single device. Each enrolled device holds a signer that proves the device is trusted, but the identity itself lives at the cryptographic layer — anchored to on-chain records and to your named guardians. Losing the device means losing the signer, not the identity.
What happens next
You install the Vault on a replacement device. The new device requests trust; your guardians (usually 3-5 people you named at first setup: a spouse, an attorney, an adult child, an executor) receive an attestation request. Once threshold is met, the new device becomes a trusted signer. You're back in.
How this differs from crypto wallets
Hardware wallets typically require the seed phrase to restore. Software wallets often require both the seed phrase and a password. H33 has no phrase to lose. The guardian roster is the recovery model — designed to degrade gracefully, not to fail catastrophically on a single loss.
How this differs from password managers
Password managers require a master password + emergency kit + secret key. If you lose the phone with any of those, you're locked out. H33 uses cryptographic attestation from people who know you, not memorized secrets.
